Members overwhelmingly confirmed that turning to music during pain is a common and powerful coping strategy, with many describing how they use it to distract from discomfort, create calm, and carve out personal space in the midst of chronic illness. Several members shared their preferences, including classical music, country, instrumentals, and even specialized healing frequencies designed to promote relaxation and pain relief, with some noting that music without lyrics helps quiet an overstimulated mind. A recurring theme was music's unique ability to provide comfort and healing without demanding attention the way TV does, allowing members to retreat inward and find moments of peace when pain feels overwhelming.

I have always retreated with music when I need my space, especially when pain tries to overtake me. It calms my nerves and helps me focus on the music and so much less then the pain.

I just saw an advertisement for healing music called Whole Tones. You might want to google. Or anyone....I'm going to soon. They had a sample in ad and sounds a little like meditative music they play in spas when you get a massage (if you haven't done this, treat yourself!). Except music has more energy than that. Like I said, big believer. I think it might be hard to dance to though, lol!
