Hi, has anyone had their assessment recently, how did you find it went? Everything I read makes it sound horrible, have mine on Tuesday. Getting pretty anxious.

Hi Laura like you i have heard lots of horrible stories thanks for the warning as i have to go for a assessment on 31 august. I will take someone with me, hopefully you will receive enhanced mobility good luck.xx
Received my decision, standard living, higher mobility which is all great, however only runs to August 2017 and review date end August 2016, called to ask why and was informed that my assessor recommended that as I had recently had a fall and injured my knee so may improve!!!! The fall hasn't really made it worse at all. Apparently because I made eye contact and did not show my anxiety, I was not anxious!!! So now I have to worry about going through the whole process again at the end of August so it is all in place again before the end of the reward! The fact that I spent 6 actual hours in three different appointments in the same day at the same hospital two weeks ago, that I have 10 appointments in the next 7 weeks booked already, let alone any more that come up and then having to worry about going through all this again in a matter of a few weeks after has really hit me. I wondered about asking for a review but don't want to risk loosing it all, but hen you won't miss what you have never had. I'm also worrying about getting used to the allowance and using it to help me and then loosing it again at the review. Begining to wish I never applied in the first place. So grateful for getting the award I have, so frustrated about the length it is for. Do people often loose it on a review? Sorry for the rant people. Hope you have all had as good a day as you can x
I had mine last summer & it was fine. It was with a nurse & she understood my problems & the questions weren't too difficult. It was only about 2miles away. She gave me the top rate in both mobility & care , I had been getting high rate DLA before . I was so nervous after the rumours , but it was much easier & didn't seem to take too long either.
I hope that helps a bit Hun . Good luck with it x
It's over pretty quickly honey so don't worry. I had mine recently and was put on the standard rate for care and mobility component, I was hoping for the higher rate mobility as I am down more than I am up, but at the same time understand why I was put on the standard rate because there are weeks when I am up and active (although I do pay for it later) Grateful for the help so mustn't grumble.x
Hi I had mine in september and it was fine my money got backdated and the people that done my assessment were nice and understanding good luck x
