Hi to all fellow fibro warriors
I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea about 3 years ago and was wondering how many warrior's have sleep apnea or have been tested as it really concerns me so so many of us are sleep deprived
I suffer with insomnia but its controlled by medication
Anyway i would love to hear about your experience
Cheers

Members shared their experiences with sleep apnea alongside fibromyalgia, with many describing alarmingly high numbers of breathing interruptions per hour (ranging from 62 to 87 times) before being diagnosed through sleep studies and starting CPAP treatment. Several members reported waking refreshed after using their CPAP machines, though some struggled initially with mask adjustments, and many emphasized the critical connection between fibromyalgia and lack of REM sleep, which doctors identified as a common pattern in fibro patients. A recurring theme was the life-changing relief of finally getting diagnosed and treated, with spouses often being the first to notice the dangerous breathing pauses and members encouraging each other to pursue testing even when skeptical about its necessity.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea years ago. I tried a cpap and 4 different masks and just never could get used to it. I just had another sleep study done and got a new cpap and mask. I am having much better luck with this one. And the mornings are much better!!

I was told to have a sleep study done by my doctor who required it before he would proceed with cognitive testing. I thought it was a waste of time but then my results showed severe sleep apnea. In one night of sleep I got 4 mins of REM. I immediately started the Cpap and even use it for naps.
