Does Anyone Else Have Swollen, Heavy Painful Breasts?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am 62. I had a total hysterectomy in 1992. The cervix, everything removed. I had endometriosis and 7 tumors. I went into immediate menopause. I have always felt better when on progesterone but they kept wanting to give me estrogen /Premarin. Long long story but my breasts hurt and are full all of the time. Estrogen seems to make it worse. It seems like dairy (the hormones?) bothered me, the hormones in meat? Coffee. Imagine going to a male doctor and explaining that!!!! The solution is always… read more

@A MyFibroTeam Member I feel like my hormones are all screwed up too. As I said, I read an article on estrogen dominance. I have tried to figure it out for years. Very painful, very uncomfortable. Coffee, chocolate bothers me for sure. I take synthroid, I wonder if that would do it? I'll have to research that.....

When I had my hysterectomy, I went into immediate hot flashes. All the time! I ended up after a few trials of that Premarin and Progesterone, I went with a very low dose patch. It was enough to ward off the very frequent hot flashes. Those would come about every 20 minutes, so i was grateful to have something that would help with that!

Hey there @A MyFibroTeam Member. I think that was the idea but I went into peri-menopause and was in that for years. Uugghhhh. I still have my ovaries. I don't think they were producing. Our bodies are so complex and each of us is so different and have different chemical and biological makeups. I believe God created us and I think each of us is a walking miracle.

OMg. I just found the answer. It's the synthroid. Some part of the chemical reaction causes the pituitary to produce Prolactin which is the hormone for breast feeding. Wow. I'm relieved to know, but irritated at my body for failing to work normally and having so much constant uncomfortableness in my body. Sooo tired of it!!! So sad, I could scream..... :( God bless us all.

I had a complete and total hysterectomy in 1989. Even took ovaries because I was having trouble with cysts on the ovaries. My Mom died of ovarian cancer so I already knew that I was headed that way. I have tried hormone replacement til I was at the highest dose and had to come off. I went into menopause at surgery. Then went into it again when my body was at the right age. I sweat terribly. Bad mood swings. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Gentle hugs and prayers for all
