Disability
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

How long is the fight for disability on average? And am I able to be working like three hours a week? That's about all I've been able to work on a good week!inns

Hi, I age. Please get an attny. I went to an attny who specialized in disability. At that time there was a cap on what they could charge. They did not get paid till I got my settlement and it was taken or if the back pay. Really want to stress, keep a journal for yourself. It helps to remember what you go through daily. Also keep copies of all the tests and stuff you get from the dr. Just in case they misplace or lose it. I agree with the person amir the monthly dr visits. They usually do turn down people the first time. I only know one exception. There is a time limit after you stop working to when you can apply so be on top of that. It's like months but I almost missed it. Best wishes

It took me about 4 months to be approved and another 6 months before I got the first payment. The key is documentation and having a clear date of inception. Good luck!

I wasn't working when I started fighting for it. Not sure how they consider it if you are working. I know its harder to get when your younger. I'm praying I get it this time. Think it's been 3 years.

Still fighting for mine. Been about 2 yrs. I'm on round 2 but perseverance is key, don't give up they will deny you just have to keep applying. Get a lawyer they work on commission if you are accepted. You lose they lose so they tend to fight harder. I love my attorney he won my lawsuit and fighting for my SSI, His name is Matt Yokum..awesome guy
