Members from South Africa shared their personal medication combinations for managing fibromyalgia pain, with many using Tramacet or tramadol alongside other options like Lyrica, Venlor, Cymgen, and Arthrexin. Several members offered practical guidance, including consulting a pain management doctor, being mindful of acetaminophen limits in combination medications, and considering whether tramadol alone might work better than combination formulations. A recurring theme was the powerful role of stress in triggering flares, with one member describing significant improvement after removing themselves from a stressful environment, reinforcing that effective pain management requires addressing both medication and lifestyle factors.

@Jolandi and @A MyFibroTeam Member I can vouch for the stress part, that is why I have my flare. Am on Tramacett twice a day, Venlor and over the counter pain meds. Elmarie there is a pain management clinic at Donald Gordon Hospital. Gentle hugs to all.

I was on lyrica at night and yelate in the mornings. Tramacet and arterexin when pain is two much. I'm of all meds for 7 weeks now. And feeling great. I removed myself from a stressful environment and went on holiday in Mosselbaai(visiting my mom) While I was in Rustenburg if have been in and out of hospital and Dr 's offices. I do get flare up but not as regularly. So I do think stress has a big influance in you're pain management no matter what meds you are using

ulracet and tramacet is tramadol & acetaminophen. ask your md if you can try just the tramadol without the acetaminophen. pls be careful of your acetaminophen (tylenol) intake . fda says no more then 3gms per day including combination meds like ultracet & tramacet.

Very good advise Natasha. I also made a mistake with two kinds of meds but this combo seems to work for me.
