No letter come back from rhumylogist yet saw them 2nd feb. My mental health O.T has asked for me to be referred tp a phycholist and he said many people think fibromyaglia/CFS etc is all in my head. So I'm basically not being believerd because of her. Not happy at all. Always disliked her anyway.

Ok so here's what you do, and it's going to take some effort on your behalf...
Google and find the leading drs in the field of fibro and look for any published papers they have written on the subject, look specifically for articles that mimic the symptoms you have and then on your next visit you take her a copy of what you have found and discovered, and the next part is key, if she disregards it then you say that you will now raise a complaint with the medical licensing board about her ignorance and failure to accept a condition when supporting evidence has been presented.
If she values her medical career she will take a real look this time. Because you can go above any drs head and go to the medical board to complain and if you present them with the exact same thing you've presented her with and she's still insisting on doing nothing she can have any number of penalties held against her. So it's in her interests to look at the information you provide. So make it good.
I wish you all the luck in the world and I'm always here for help xx
That is why i say we have to stand up to the DR'S . !!!!!!!! Every time i hear some one say that fibro , is in your head , oh i just go back to the days or should i say years . many ,many years of hearing that it is in my head i swear i have ptsd , from the DR'S ! IHAVE BEEN THREW A LOT IN MY LIFE ,BUT NOTHING GETS ME MORE THEN TO HEAR A DR. SAY IT IS IN MY HEAD ! But any ways we all have the right to see another DR. ! OR A THIRD ONE ! For me i would get on the phone and ask to be able to see another DR, ! PLEASE DO NOT LET them push you around ! sending you prayers , joy ,love and peace always michele
find someone who believes u because it is not in your head it is real
This sounds like a good case for "fire your health team"- if you can find a supportive therapist or psychiatrist who will work with your fibro - that might help. In my experiences The most supportive members of my fibro diagnosis and other health conditions have been my therapist and psychiatrist. My psychiatrist has put me on cymbalta to try and see if it will help the fibro, while my other docs won't give me meds for my fibro. Just make sure you get a good psych and never settle for a doctor who treats you less if you can help it.
I agree, keep looking until you find someone who believes in you and will advocate for you. We all deserve that much and we often have to settle for so much less because of money, regulations, self esteem, proximity etc etc
