Does anyone else have sudden urges to get a lot done, around the house, feeling like walking the dog? Then attempts to do a little job such as tidying round a room or putting a wash on and feels awful again? xxx

Members deeply related to the frustration of feeling mentally motivated to tackle household tasks, only to be stopped by the physical reality of fibromyalgia pain and fatigue that strikes the moment they stand up or begin a simple chore. Several members shared coping strategies that have helped them manage, including pacing themselves with 10-minute tasks, investing in lightweight cordless vacuums and assistive devices like stair-climbing carts or countertop dishwashers, and learning to listen to their bodies rather than pushing through on good days. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of disappointment, guilt, and grief over lost abilities, balanced by a fierce determination not to let the illness win and the understanding that rest and self-compassion are necessary, even when tasks pile up.

Yes. When my day starts of good, I start running around trying to get so myvh done before my pain rolls around. I wish that I could have more days that start off pain free.

Very much so. Dishes or dust or clutter pile up well I'm at the point I don't care. I do what I can when I can.

Totally ,on a good day ,I want to do every thing I haven't been able to do on the bad days ,it's so easy to over do it ,then the next days are really bad.pacing myself is so difficult.

That is the tricky part. You start to feel a bit better after resting...then you do the smallest thing and you are back to the pain again. I try to pace myself to ten minute jobs as I feel the ability. It all waits for you. Lol
