Looking for more info on jaw pain associated with fibro? For example, my jaw on my left side is constantly locked. The pressure builds up and up until I have to "click" it. My doctor and dentist just told me to "try and not do that".

What is it? Why is it doing that? What's causing it??

Members overwhelmingly identified the jaw locking and clicking described in the post as temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), which many noted appears to be common among people with fibromyalgia and can cause significant pain, popping sounds, and facial swelling. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them manage symptoms, including using heating pads at night, checking vitamin B1 and D levels with a doctor, and reviewing medications with a healthcare provider since certain drugs can trigger jaw clenching. A recurring theme was the frustration of being dismissed by medical professionals and the relief of finding a community who truly understands the condition and its connection to fibromyalgia.

TMJ seems to be very common in people with fibromyalgia. I have so bad that my jaws make a loud popping sound.

I have the same thing. It is awful pain. The FM seemed to escalate the TMJ symptoms. Sometimes i will lay with my head of a heating pad at night.

Ask your gp to check for Thiamine (vitamin B1) and vitamin D levels lacking in both of these can cause this.
