Sleep Apnea, Seizures And Narcolepsy
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have sleep apnea and use either a cpap or bipap? I know when undiagnosed and left untreated you have headaches, possibly seizures, shortness of breath etc? Treatment for the severe sleep apnea has been started on me, which helped my headaches and a lil bit of the exhaustion which in turn helped my mood swings. The neurologist instructed me that he had to get the apnea under control then deal with the continued sleepiness and falling asleep without knowing, temporarily. So, now I'm a… read more

I have sleep apnea and use cpap I find it difficult because the fibro pain in the back of head means I cant always use the mask but last night I was dreaming I couldn't breath and woke up ... I actually felt like my heart was stopping it was going so slow and couldn't catch my breath .. Safe to say the mask will be on tonight

I use a cpap occasionally for sleep apnea if I go to bed and feel my throat being blocked. I have an adjustable bed to prop me up so I can get away with not having to use the cpap every night. I have issues with anxiety when wearing the nose pillows, even, plus I have allergies that makes it uncomfortable to use when I'm stuffed up. I only have mild sleep apnea and don't have narcolepsy, thank God.

@A MyFibroTeam Member i had the same issue and the on lab sleep study showed that i was having central apneas along with obstructive. Central means that your brain isn't telling your lungs to breathe. My BiPAP has fixed that tho the machine still shows that I have a few, but way less than before my machine.
