Hi Friends, I am going through a tough time with my little sister right now and mother. My sister tells me she understands and feel my pain with my condition. But then she got upset with me because I didn't feel like meeting her and her boyfriend at this little club to celebrate his birthday, which was the 3rd. But, I ran around all day on his birthday for her, picking up a bday cake, balloons and gifts from my family, also food for a little gathering at her house for him on that day. She had to… read more

Members rallied around someone navigating painful family dynamics while managing fibromyalgia, affirming that going above and beyond for a sister's celebration only to be met with anger and disrespect was deeply unfair and not their fault. Several members shared their own experiences with family members who dismiss or fail to understand chronic illness, offering practical advice such as setting firm boundaries, distancing from negativity when necessary, educating loved ones by asking them to read about the condition, and leaning on supportive relationships like spouses, children, and chosen family who truly understand. A recurring theme was the importance of protecting one's own peace and health by refusing to let guilt or others' unrealistic expectations steal joy, with many emphasizing that forgiveness does not mean allowing continued harm and that sometimes silence or stepping back is the healthiest response.

I'm so sorry to read this it must be really hard for you. In my opinion I would stop reaching out now it seems to me you have done more than enough. Ultimately it's her loss. She will never understand what u go through and I apologise if I'm speaking out of turn but ur sister seems very selfish and that is something u dnt need in ur life. Live for u and the ones who care xx

Can you jump up on rooftops? No?
Whoa. Just checking if you were Wonder Woman.
Are you responsible for how a person reacts to your illness?
No. They are.
What you need is my special formula I call GUILT AWAY.
Pick out any bottle your imagination desires, add essential oils that you enjoy, you can even add a squeeky sound when you spray it all around you and on yourself.
It's cool!
Anytime someone tries the guilt trip card, hold up your hand like a stop sign....confuses the heck out of them too...them look in your purse, rucksack, pockets, or O, there it is in on the shelf in the air.
Proceed to spray and honk or squeak or say nothing, but smile baby smile.
After you're finished, then look at them and with that beautiful smile, say something mind warping like....It is a lovely day, and although I'm sure you had a great guilt trip to try out, I'm use Guilt Away so you'll have to keep it for someone else. Bye!
screws their brains up by locking their thinking.
if we change our thinking and reactions to the negative people we meet, they'll either stop or leave.
But you have to be consistent. That's the key. They won't stop until you stop them.
And a smile confuses an angry person because they wonder what your smiling about.

Understand, if you are in an unsafe environment, #1 get out to a safe place.
Don't play a game. Get to a women safe house. And don't go back.

Your safety should always be first.

Keep in touch...💜

My sister just got diagnosed with Fibro a few weeks ago, so I think she is going to be understanding, what it is about. I just hated to see her get diagnosed with this terrible condition. this is not a scenerio that misery loves company! i do not want anyone to suffer with this, especially my loved ones. My friend told me to have the doctor check me for lyme disease, because her aunt had fibro for 20 years and they founf out most of her symptoms was from lyme disease and not fibro. Just a thought.
