My doctor has always mentioned putting me on Lyrica or Cymbalta. I read that they are both anti-depressants. I have a bad history with anti-depressants concerning their side effects. Many of them made me crazier or more depressed. I even had hallucinations with one of them. So I am very hesitant to even think about trying another. i'm just wondering how bad the side effects are with these, if they even work on the pain of fibromyalgia, and which of the two ya'll prefer. Lyrica has not given me side effects but it certainly helps the pain. I cannot function without it. I tried cymbals but it MADE me depressed and anxious.
I'm on both medications the only side effect I've noticed is dry mouth nose and eyes. I still have pain
Lyrics is not an antidepressant. Cymbalta is an antidepressant. Lyrics helps with nerve pain. I am taking 50 mg in am and 100 mg at night. I did take cymbalta last year and it helped !y pain but then I started with suicidal thoughts and had to get off of it. I now take celexa 40 mg (antidepressant). Also take one flexeril at night with the lyrics. Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. I also take tramadal 50 mg for pain as needed.
Cymbalta has by far been the best of all my medications for fibromyalgia. It really helped xx
