I have never heard that brfore. But some doctors will blame Fibro because they don't want to do the work behind finding the true cause.

I had never heard that and it defintley would not pertain to me because I am more of a natural method person for curing rather then meds unless I have to use them.

Wow! That is an interesting question. I had been prescribed many courses of antibiotics when I was a teenager and young adult off for years for acne and never thought about there being a connection, but does make me wonder now. I was diagnosed with FM just last year at 52, but my rheumatologist suggested that she thinks I may have had this for years before the diagnosis. Hmmmm....definitely food for thought!

I don't believe the antibiotics caused the fibro but may have been a contributing factor. Most fibro is brought on by some type of trauma, usually severe. Stress is the biggest factor which in turn aggravates the nerves. It's an autoimmune deficiency

I was told when first diagnosed that fibromyalgia can be caused by an illness or trauma so yes I would say it could be thst extended use if strong antibiotics might in combination of the illness cause fibro. Mine was caused by trauma a car wreck.
