Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else has wound up in the hospital because of their fibro? I went to the ER the other night with horrible pain in my kidneys. The doctors were positive I either had a bad infection or has stones they even gave me antibiotics and prepped for possible surgery but it turned out it was just pain. Nothing wrong with my kidneys at all. Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

Members strongly related to the experience of landing in the emergency room with severe pain that turned out to be fibromyalgia rather than a serious medical condition, with several describing frightening episodes they believed were heart attacks, kidney stones, or infections that left doctors puzzled after all tests came back normal. Many members shared that these ER visits often occurred early in their fibromyalgia journey before diagnosis, leading to frustrating outcomes where they were given morphine or antibiotics but ultimately sent home without answers or pain management. A recurring theme was the difficult balance between trusting your instincts to seek emergency care when pain feels serious and the exhausting reality of never knowing if symptoms are fibro or something truly dangerous.

I ended up in A & E a couple of years ago, severe flank
Pain, heavy legs, aches and feeling terrible. Was put on morphine, admitted for 10 days, whole host of blood tests, MRI scan, chest X-rays ect and all came bk inconclusive. Was put in intravenous antibiotics for suspected kidney infection.... But nothing concluded and sent home.

This was the start of my fibro symptoms and took another couple
Of yrs before being diagnosed. I recognised April this year v similar symptoms extreme muscle: bone pain waist down , extreme fatigue, brain fog and generally feeling like I'm gonna keel over .... Them Kept pursuing for an answer as knew recurring pain and symptoms xx

I did 2 yrs ago, was admitted put on morphine and had a whole host of tests. They suspected kidney infection put me on drip antibiotics but all blood tests and other came bk inconclusive. Looking back I think it was linked to the fibro. Spent another couple of yrs trying to figure out what were causing all these symptoms and eventually diagnosed last year.

Oh my goodness to both of you! No, I've never been hospitalized for any of my symptoms. How frightening! I have had what I tho't might be heart attacks, or strokes or tia's, but refused going to ER. Saw my dr. asap and found our I was okay, so glad I didn't have to go to hospital. Thanks for sharing your experiences! We never know what we may be up against with this awful illness and your stories may save someone else. HUGS!
