i am having a very bad flare for the past 3 weeks where I am not only in pain but I have extreme fatigue also, it is so bad it gives me a headache and I can hardly use my legs or arms. It is really frustrating and would like to know how other people cope. Do you use supplements, rest or do something else to overcome this? I would appreciate any advice as I am getting sick of feeling this way.

Members rallied around someone struggling with extreme fatigue and pain during a three-week flare, offering both emotional support and a wide range of practical strategies that have helped them manage similar episodes. Several members emphasized the importance of gentle movement like stretching, walking, and balance exercises to prevent stiffness, along with heat therapy through warm Epsom salt baths, heating pads, and hot showers for temporary relief. A recurring theme was the need to protect quality sleep, monitor for environmental triggers like weather changes, review medications with a doctor when flares persist, and consider whether everyday products or nutritional gaps might be contributing to symptoms.

A long soak in not too hot bathwater with epsom salt is my best remedy. It's not a miracle cure but it makes me feel a little better at least temporarily. Best wishes for recovery!

I agree with a nice warm soak in the tub with epsom salt and I also add lavedar. I also try to do little things around the house. Sometimes I just get up and walk around. I also use a heating throw. I fold it in half and put if in my recliner and sit on it. For me the heat gives me a lot of temporary relief. I hope you start to feel better soon. Gentle hugs.

Usually when I have a bad flare I can look at what is happening with the weather. When the weather changes often my body can't keep up and I get really sore. Wind is especially bad. I get really tense when it is windy out. I need to get on my treadmill and walk it off. Talking to a fibro friend helps too. Knowing that I'm not alone in this flare is encouraging. Stretching and balance exercises every day go a long way to help keep me in a tolerable place. Good Luck. Feeling your pain.

Katie,
I am so sorry to read about the pain and fatigue has your doctor given you anything to help with your sleeping? If not ask him or her. I have the same thing, where there are days I am not sure getting out of bed is a option. Your sleep is very important to get you out of this cycle, you don't sleep well then you are in more pain. I also try warm baths. I know the weather is a big factor for me.
