I'm exhausted almost all the time. I'll go to bed early b/c i just can't stay awake. Ill only sleep for a few hours. Then I'm up and down. Restless when in bed. Only on neurontin and elavil. Not a very high dose. Not on any sleep meds. Maybe a benadryl once in a while. Melatonin didn't work for me. How's everyone doing with their fatigue? What do you take or do?

Members shared their experiences with chronic fatigue and poor sleep quality in fibromyalgia, offering strategies that have worked for them, from sleep medications like Ambien and trazodone to supplements like magnesium and vitamin D. Several members emphasized the importance of working with a doctor to adjust medication doses, particularly noting that Elavil often requires a higher dose (10-30mg) and can take months to work, while others recommended getting screened for sleep apnea since proper treatment can dramatically improve rest and energy. A recurring theme was the frustration of never feeling truly rested and the constant search for relief through a combination of medications, supplements, and medical testing.

Those sub-lingual works great.

I just started taking a child's dose adderall (5 mg) I use it very sparingly as it can become addictive like most of the pharms. But if I have to get up and get moving it certainly helps. Also helps with Fibro fog and focus. There is a drawback in that I am super sensitive to pharms and one of the side effects can be increased muscle tension and we all know we don't need that!

Have you been checked for sleep apnea? I felt exactly like you until I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and started using a machine for that. I wake up rested and with energy, and maybe less pain too.

I was taking Elavil 10 mg for about 6 months last year and I slept like a log from the first night.

My doctor gave me trazadone to help me stay asleep. It works great. I am the same as you. I pass out most times before dinner is ready but will wake after a few hours and can't go back to sleep because I am hurting. The trazadone keeps me from getting up and down so much
