Members responded overwhelmingly to the question about dry nose, mouth, headaches, and itchy eyes, with many confirming these are common fibromyalgia symptoms that may also indicate allergies or Sjögren's syndrome. Several members shared practical remedies including saline nasal rinses, Flonase spray, Vaseline for dry nostrils, lubricating eye drops, sugar-free lozenges, humidifiers, staying hydrated, and using ice packs for headaches, while a few recommended allergy testing or consulting a rheumatologist to rule out Sjögren's. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing yet another layer of symptoms on top of chronic pain, with members emphasizing the importance of listening to your body, trying natural remedies first, and seeking medical guidance when symptoms persist or worsen.

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member - yes to all of the symptoms. Research has shown that we have decreased dopamine in storage so anything additional that impacts us (mentally, emotionally, physically) in addition to the full body pain of FM is with elevated pain and more serious. Our immune symptoms are also compromised from fighting the pain all the time impacting our pain receptors. I have been averaging about 4 to 5 sinus infections a year. I fight them with all the natural things for two to three months and then have to throw in the towel and get an antibiotic. Saline solution is good because it kills bacteria in our sinus passages. Other things also complicate sinus issues like allergies, dryness from medications (vaseline) is good, I have a deviated septum so that is fun lol Dry eyes also common with reactions to medications or allergies - eye drops can help. I use drops for allergies. One time I ended up with pneumonia because I feel so sick with FM that I did not realize how bad my respiratory system was not doing well. So I broke down and took antibiotics. Sometimes we need to break down if the immune boosters, i.e., olive leaf, vitamins and minerals, amino acids, nutrition, exercise are not working then listen to your body. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. With FM it is a full time job just trying to deal with the everyday and night symptomatology so we can have functionality.

Yeppers. I suffer from all of these. You can try some eye drops (I got some from eye doctor and you use in the a.m. and at night to moisten the eyes).. As for the dry nose perhaps you may wish to invest in humidifier to have in your bedroom at night. It may help if you are breathing in air that is not dry. For dry mouth, I keep water by my side at all times. You could also suck on lozenges (sugar-free) and there are products for dry mouth you can buy to help with that problem. As for the headaches - I just lay down with an ice pack under my necki and one on my forehead and rest until it's under control or I go in the shower and use the handheld shower head to massage my face to help my head ache.

I have these symptoms. PCP diagnosed me with Sjogren. She sent me to a "awesome" Rheumy who wants to confirm the diagnose by sending me to an Ear-Nose-throat doctor. She is gonna do a biopsy of my salivary gland in my lip. U might want to ask your doctor about Sjogren's Syndrome, Soft hugs.

Hi, I also have all those symptoms. My rheumatologist never mentioned Sjögren's syndrome. But a lot of these symptoms are also fibro related. I drink a lot of water & for my eyes I put moisturizing drops in several times per day. I always seem to have a headache. I figured it's just another issue with fibro.
