Can fybromyalgia be passed on? I have thought for a while that my mum may have it, but now I am worried about my daughter. Can anyone shed any light for me?
Yes, fibromyalgia is a hereditary condition. It is one of many auto-immune conditions that can manifest as arthritis, fibromyalgia, Lupus, diabetes, etc. So both your mother and daughter may be at risk for any of these conditions.
My Dr. says it seems to run in families.
Do you have documentation to back that up DebbieSylva? I certainly don't agree with that at all. Unless you are referring to rheumatoid arthritis, regular osteo, and diabetes are most definitely not auto-immune diseases.
My Dr. says it runs in families. My Grandmother must have had it, but the family thought she was just making it up. I now know different. They didn't know anything about Fibro then. I have since found out that John F. Kennedy had Fibro.
