When you decide to file, they'll initially deny it. Don't give up. File the appeals. When they do approve you, and eventually they will, they pay from the date of the initial application as long as the appeals were filled within the correct time frame. I waited too long for mine, didn't file the appeals and could've gotten much more. It's a long, tedious process and don't feel like just because you're young you shouldn't be entitled. Age has nothing to do with disability.

I didn't give in to mine until I ruptured three discs in my lumbar spine. After two surgeries and seven days of complete bed rest in the hospital I filed online. I was sent a packet of papers to fill out and return. That was Aug 8, 2008 in TX. Dec 3,2008 I received an award latter and got two checks two days later. You are young but with the issues you have and the paperwork filled out properly, you should get your disability. It drastically changed my income even tho I'd worked for 20 yrs. Good luck

Did you try to obtain a Social Security Disability lawyer? I try to delegate these days...for me, I would let the attorney advise me. I have noticed I got so much crap from different people when I first started trying to get disability, they really put you thru the ringer. You want some paper trail, at the least, that you tried for SS disability ... because if you give up the first time ... SS (I found) was more receptive the second time for me, and the stuff the attorneys did I would have never thought. Besides, people take more notice when you have an attorney in your corner. I got to the stage where I had to reduce my hours working and that has helped me manage my life better and I only work in the morning so if I get tired I know I have the afternoon to recover

I have Fibro with irritable bowel, irritable bladder, acid reflux, nausea, stomach lining problems, and the list goes on. I was a teacher until my school district decided that I couldn't work unitl I was cured. I had a panic attack at school. My attacks resemble a heart attack. I was put on permanent unpaid leave. They would not fire me. My Dr. disabled me after he called the district a few bad names. Medicare gave me a hard time at first, but they settled.
