I have different friends on all the meds people have mentioned above. Of course, lyrica and cymbalta are the approved ones, but others (mentioned above) work well for different people. Be willing to try more than one and hang in there. You may have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince of meds LOL!
I take 60 mg Cymbalta and a booster for depression called Viibryd. I would like to up the dosage, but did for a while and suffered from disorientation and memory loss (worse than usual) so we backed down. Trial and error. Keep a journal, if you don't already, so you know what's working and so does your dr. when he asks. It's so hard to remember that kind of thing. I keep hoping and praying that the profession will come up with a definitive answer--not one-size-fits-all, but something other than what is now available. Natural, organic, homeopathic things can help, but also need to be monitored just like pharaceuticals. So does diet. It takes a lot of work. We are high-maintenance! But we're worth it! Hugs!
I have been on every pain meds for the treatment of fibro and nothing suited me i would get really bad side effect's if it wasn't my liver showing sign's of failure or it was my blood, this is why i have a spinal cord stimulator to help with my chronic pain.
You can see my list on the latest depression part.
