I think everyone on the team had some great things to say. I agree that if your husband used your illness as an excuse to leave you then he did not and cannot love you in the covenant of marriage or love. My exhusband was abusive so I know I would not have made it with him and FM. I have been married for 26 years to a wonderful man who not only understands this condition from a medical stance but also the impact it has on our emotional and mental health. He is a health psychologist and works in primary care clinics and assures me that his patients tell him the same kinds of things that I share. He tells me that I can vent all I want because if he had FM he says he would crumble. I agree to continue your path of focusing on what you need and you will probably notice that things will actually get better when you are not living like your walking on "egg shells." Especially, with someone that does not know what the meaning of love is. Take care...
When a person goes through anything, mental or physical it affects all those around them. It, that family isn't there for them, what makes them feel the shoe should be on the other foot if the prime arrives? Don't they realize it could well have been them where you are, or very much worse. Food for thought.
Gentle hugs.
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear this but it's true not all men are jerks. I met someone who is very supportive, kind and gentle. Please don't give up it comes when you least expect it.
\sending you soft gentle hugs xxx
I have been married 4 times(Just call me LIz Taylor). Last three was after Fibro....Bobby, 2nd hubby was with me from the very beginning. He was a really jealous man, and sometimes I would get the Fibro stare, You know where your mind just goes blank, and you stare into space. He would swear I was staring at men. He would claim that I was dreaming of sex in my sleep...making noise, moving around in bed. He actually made me go to Physchologist.... she told him I needed to stay away from triggers...previous to him I had only been with Black men(my first hubby and my 2 children are black).
I was not allowed to listen to black music, watch black comedies, look at black men or watch any movie that had a black person In It. Needless to say, this may sound awful, He died of a massive heart attack, I really think this happened to end my misery.
3rd Marriage was just a big mistake....Married out of loneliness. This ended one because he was a momma's boy and because of jealousy and weight loss surgery.
4th Marriage is going strong, We have our ups and downs, and sometimes I think my Fibro causes problems but he loves me. I am very happy.
Sorry this was so long winded! LOL God bless you.
My husband is supportive. Not every guy is a jerk, although a lot of them are. Try to keep you head up and if it was meant to be you will find a wonderful supportive man.
What do you do if your spouse doesn’t believe in your illness even if your doctor has diagnosed you.
