I'm desperately searching for a doctor who deals with fibromyalgia. The rheumatologist who diagnosed me originally is no longer practicing. I was referred to a new doctor (just out of residency) and she didn't seem very knowledgeable regarding FM.
@A MyFibroTeam Member. If you have insurance with a booklet of doctors that work with them, see if Fibromyalia is listed as a specialty. You know about Rheumatoligists, so also check Neurologists, Autoimmunologists, and even Gerontologists, no matter what your age. Lots of doctors have Facebook pages which include patient comments and reviews, and these are free to read. I have so many specialists now, but I'm very fortunate that half of them are in the same building. Not only is this convenient, but all of these doctors know each other and can consult on my condition when needed.
I saw a doctor that I was happy with once... But she is in Kansas City. I am in Lawrence and have one I am happy with here as well. If you would like the names I can give them to you, but it might be too far a drive for you. I will keep my ears open and let you know if I hear anything good in your direction.
I don't live in St. Loius but the if you can find.a.pain.clinic or s pain specialist. I think that could really help you get.on the right the 5raxk. Recently I had a DNA rest to show which meds I .metabolize and which I don't. Was an eye opener. Hope you have luck in finding the right. Doctor. Gentle hugs
I was evaluated by a neurologist and he was at a loss. MS was his specialty and he ruled me out for that
I'll have to look into the others. Thanks so much for the help
