Does Anyone Have Hashimotos?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey yall!! My tsh levels are fluctuating from high to normal. I read that many with hashimotos have this problem during the diagnosis process. I have all symptoms of hashimotos and was wondering if anyone has had this happen?
Also any other information will be happily accepted!

Thank you!

I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroid. Taking synthroid , thyroxal, vitamin A and some medication my natural path had made for me to support thyroid function. She also told me that gluten sensitivity is links to Hashimoto's so I've cut way down on gluten.

Yes it's a nightmare I was on deaths door, and had to hire a functional medicine doctor to run the necessary test. Out of pocket and not in my insurance. General western trained doctors are ignorant and will only run one test the TSH and tell you that you are normal. Which is what five doctors told me before I decide to seek a good functional doctor out. I was so sick and bedridden. I have Hashimotos and you must get your Anti bodies checked and your T3 and T4 and the reverse T3 and T4 and you TSH. Hashimoto's is an auto immune disease it's where your body is attacking your thyroid. It can mimic some of the same symptoms as Fibro. One of the best things you can do for your health is get your thyroid checked by a doctor who knows how to test for thyroid problems.

I was diagnosed with hashimoto 15 years ago. I guess I had a good doctor at the time. He explained that hashimoto is a specific form of thyroid disease that is identified by the drastic fluctuations. Hypo is always low. Hyper is always high. Hashimoto usually has more low than high so it is usually treated with the same meds as hypo; synthroid or levothyroxin. All of this information is from what I remember my doctor telling me because I asked a ton of questions.

My Hashimotos disease turned my thyroid into a big mess. I got thyroid cancer and now the right side is gone. The left side was cancer free. It's been 2 years in march that I had the surgery. No more cancer but my body temperature in uncontrollable. Either hot or cold.

Hi Victoria,
I have just been diagnosed with underactive thyroid and no one explained anything to me. It seems to be too much hassle for them.
i am concerned because at the same time I was diagnosed hypo, I was put on Lyrica for fibro; a lot of people on here say they have gained a lot of weight with this med and weight gain is why I went to the GP in the first place.
Good luck, I hope you get things sorted and don't be afraid to ask questions like i was!
