I have had abdominal bloating and severe cramping pain spasms since I had my hysterectomy in 2012. Don't know what might be causing it but it is so sore and uncomfortable and it never goes away. Just want to know if anyone else has had this or if they can suggest anything. My bloating is that bad that I have been asked on numerous occasions if I am pregnant, which is funny to see the persons face when you tell them that I have had a hysterectomy and that it is physically impossible. Any help… read more

Members rallied around someone experiencing persistent abdominal bloating and cramping three years after a partial hysterectomy, with many sharing that they face similar symptoms from a mix of causes including IBS, ovarian cysts, scar tissue and adhesions from surgeries, interstitial cystitis, and food sensitivities beyond gluten. Several members offered practical strategies such as taking anti-spasmodic medications like Bentyl or Buscopan, trying magnesium supplements or probiotics, eliminating trigger foods like high fructose corn syrup or dairy, and asking for tests to rule out conditions like bacterial overgrowth, gallbladder issues, or endometriosis. A recurring theme was the frustration of dealing with overlapping digestive and gynecological conditions that doctors sometimes struggle to pinpoint, alongside encouragement to keep advocating for answers and not give up on finding relief.

Just wanted to share this also. IBS as you know has different "forms". And pain meds can cause constipation. My dr told me me to take stool softeners and they help along with eating a lot of veggies. That has helped a lot.

I just saw that you posted that you're already gluten free. That was actually going to be my suggestion. I find it very difficult with a house full of kids to maintain a good gluten free diet but I try unless we are going out to eat or something like a family occasion or whatever but I find that after eating Chinese food or anything like a heavy pasta I wake up the next morning like I added 10 pounds on. Another thought could be preservatives of some sort or msg

Could be dietary related hun. Worth keeping an eye on what you eat and see if there is a pattern. Also speak to GP see if they can prescribe buscopan x

My abdominal swelling turned out to be liver/glabladder problems. My gallbladder had to be removed and I've virtually eliminated red meat from my diet since bile breaks down animal fats. It's substantially helped.
