Trouble Sleeping

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm having trouble staying asleep. Some nights it's a battle to get to sleep to only wake up a few hours later unrested and exhausted . I fall asleep and drop things during the day, but no matter how hard I try to stay awake during the day I still sleep lousy at night ? Any ideas ?

Members connected over the exhausting struggle of fibromyalgia-related insomnia, with many sharing that they wake repeatedly throughout the night, fall asleep involuntarily during the day, and feel perpetually unrested despite trying countless solutions. Several members recommended practical sleep aids including melatonin, prescription medications like amitriptyline and Valium, keeping the bedroom cool, and getting tested for sleep apnea through a sleep study. A recurring theme was the importance of consulting with doctors about prescription options, maintaining consistent sleep schedules when possible, and remembering that rest is a necessary part of healing even when it feels impossible to achieve.

The Pharmacist told me I could take melatonin, Benadryl, or my Valium to help me sleep

Wish I could help, though I find it easier to sleep with my window open and the room slightly colder than most people would have :)
