Body Temperature
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

How do you all cope with body temperature issues.. one minute I'm freezing next minute I'm overheating.. and I wake up a few times during the night and I am soaked plus the bed and duvet. It's it so bad and disgusting... I've always slept naked but I always can't sleep without a duvet it's my comfort thing I think. Help.

Socks on, hat on, sweater on, blanket over, blanket off, sweater off, hat off, socks off, clothes off, fan on. Repeat as needed. :)

I have the fluctuating temperature issues also. I, too, have a "comfort" issue with having my covers on me. I sleep with the ceiling fan on, even in the winter, and use a sheet and a light weight comforter.

I have the hot and sweating thing most of the time. I know part of it is medication and I'm past menopause but can't take estrogen due to having breast cancer 4 years ago. I keep my bedroom pretty cool at night but still sweat some. I usually get really hot when I'm trying to get ready to go somewhere. By the time I leave I'm sweating profusely especially around my face. I asked the doctor what I could take since I can't take a estrogen or even anything natural that's for hot flashes. He said they usually give Effexor for that, but I'm on a heavy dose of Effexor anyway. I know the pain medications can make you break out with a sweat too.

I use a ceiling fan and different layers of covers so I can flick off and on when needed. I really hate it out in public when all of a sudden I am sweating but have learned to dress in layers so can adjust as needed.

I use too not be comfortable without a lite blanket covered up to my neck. Now I use a sheet and then a lite blanket from hips down.
