I went to a Chiropractor for the first time on Friday. I felt great when I left. Sat I began to have an awful flare up. I can hardly walk and my legs, hips, back and shoulders are killing me. I am suppose to go back on Monday and I am not sure I should.
This Chiropractor told me I did not have fibromyalgia and that once he got my back aligned the pain will stop.

Members shared mixed experiences with chiropractic care for fibromyalgia, with many emphasizing the importance of finding a practitioner who understands the condition and uses gentle techniques rather than aggressive adjustments. Several members recommended alternatives like osteopathic manipulation therapy (OMT) or trigger point therapy as gentler options, while others cautioned against chiropractors who dismiss fibromyalgia as a real diagnosis. A recurring theme was that the right practitioner makes all the difference, with some members experiencing relief through gentle, knowledgeable care while others faced serious complications from overly aggressive treatments.

Everything with Fibro requires a balance - you need to excercise and move but to much excercise can put you down for a week or 2.

Going to the chiropractor (I was dedicated for years) I believe is the reason I had to have a neck and back fusion. And that pain is what I believe was the final chip in the manifestation of my FMS. I will never go again and as a side note my husband had to have a neck fusion 2 years after mine and he used to go to the same chiropractor. And if yours doesn't believe in FMS then run!
