I will be meeting with my doctor in December to review my medicines that I am taking. I currently take gabapentine, tramadol, tizanadine and Nabumetone and for the real painful days oxycodone or hydromorphone. These meds are not working well as I have been on them for a long time. I was thinking about going back to cyclobenzapine. I do not want to go back to lyrics as it caused problems for me. Will anyone share what they take so I may make suggestions to the doctor? Thank you
I stay general because after awhile the meds stop working then they bump you up till they stop working. I take percocet (high dose) 3x a day, Norco every 4 hrs, Skelaxin (muscle relaxer prn.. we r trying to get Lyrica & oxycontin approved by insurance
For pain management I take neurontin 600 mgs 3x/day, plaquenil, baclofen 10 mgs 3x/day, soma 350 mgs 4x/day, percocet 10/325 every 4 hrs as needed, oxycodone ir 60 mgs every 4 hrs as needed, ibuprofen 800 mgs every 4 hrs as needed, Tylenol every 4 hrs 1000mgs, and magnesium almost daily for muscle pain and cramps. I also take Xanax .5 mgs as needed to help my anxiety when I'm really hurting so that it helps me relax so my body let's my pain meds work better
I've taken cyclobenzaprine for years. I take 5 milligrams in the morning and 10 at night. I will take more of it if I'm having muscle spasms. It's the only one that seems to really work for me. It's kind of in a class of its own. I like Soma too, but can't take it for long periods of time due to rebound headaches. I try to keep it down to a low dose because it has a tendency to increase your appetite and can make you sleepy. I also take Depakote for headaches, Tramadol for pain with twoTylenol, Ketoprofen as an anti-inflammatory, Effexor as an antidepressant, and a couple of other odds and ends that aren't related to fibro. I've taken various doses of Norco in the past too. I tried Oxycontin but it really spiraled me into a depressed situation. Neither one of my sisters could take Oxycontin either.
Have you heard of low dose naltrexone? I shared my experience on my blog here: http://fedupwithfatigue.com/?p=826 I had good luck w/ it for pain.
