So I'm not sure if I'm the only one this happens to but for most of my life I've always had painful monthly cycles. I haven't had my monthly since September when I started and stopped cymbalta (made me extremely sick). I also have PCOS that sounds like the symptoms. I would get checked for it. I am on Metformin for the bloating and weight gain and I also take something for cramping for IBS.
Hi, it might not be anything to do with fibro. You could get a referral to a gynaecologist to make sure you don't have uterine fibroids or endometriosis or something similar. Good luck!
It's polycystic ovarian syndrome. It is caused by a hormonal imbalance that causes the female body to produce too much testosterone which leads to male pattern baldness and male pattern beard growth. Many women with PCOS have cysts on their ovaries that cause them lots of pain ( my ovaries are the size of my uterus). PCOS also causes other hormonal imbalances in the body such as insulin resistance. It makes it almost impossible to lose weight. On top of that pcos also causes uterine cancer, infertility, diabetes and many other side effects. It is just as deadly as breast cancer but has very little awareness. The periods of a female with PCOS are almost unbearable. I was hospitalized many times for pain and heavy bleeding.
Also try checking the symptoms list for PCOS. It can cause you to miss periods and have very painful periods as well. I have both fibromyalgia and PCOS. You should definitely look it up just in case! :)
