Members shared mixed experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, with many noting it helped reduce pain and improved sleep, though several experienced side effects like vision problems, feeling stoned or foggy, jaw clenching, and hand swelling. Several members emphasized the importance of taking Lyrica consistently at the same time each day, as missing even one dose often caused pain to return intensely, and that it can take up to two months to feel the full benefits. A recurring theme was the frustration of being a medication guinea pig, with members comparing Lyrica to alternatives like gabapentin, Cymbalta, and natural remedies, while acknowledging the challenge of balancing effectiveness with affordability and side effects.

I'm also on Lyrica & so far love it. It is frustrating to be a medication guinea pig.

I take 100mg 3x a day. Breakfast, lunch, and bedtime. If I'm in a flare I bump it by 100mg., this is mostly when it's cold and damp. I don't notice any side effects anymore, but I've been on it a year. Gabapentin was helpful, but I was gaining a lot of weight. Cymbalta caused me to sweat and clench my jaw so bad I'd have terrible headaches. Dr. is now pushing for me to try another anti-depressant, zoloft or celexa. I'm hesitant, because the husband and I have been having a rough time and I don't want to add in any other side-effects.

I do not recommend Lyrica. My experience was awful, feeling so drugged up I could not think or function. Took forever for it to get out of my system.
