Is Fibromyalgia considered to be a common illness or is it quite rare. How many people actually suffer from this illness?
Lots of us.. At one time they called it a woman's condition. Now they have found out different. Men and children are now being diagnosed as well as women. I was diagnosed in 1994 after not recovering from an injury. The only way I have any life is with meds. Gabapentin, Cymbalta, Arthrotec, and Tylenol on a daily basis. Hot tubs are helpful and exercise. The secret is keep moving. Hope this helps.
I had an accident, not a car accident but I broke 8 ribs and from that it also caused a back and neck injury. I was diagnosed with fibro in or around 2008. I have good days and then a lot of bad days. From migraines, fatigue,IBS and chronic pain. My life is one day at a time. It's really depressing and debilitating. It's hard to keep a job down, I miss alottof work and people do not understand. They think it's a hoax. I would love to be able to help others with this condition so we can get it more recognized. I hoped this helped you. Tell me your story and what meds you take.
@A MyFibroTeam Member It doesn't seem that uncommon. Any time I tell someone I have Fibro, they seem to know someone or be related to someone that has it.
@A MyFibroTeam Member are you still able to work?
