My vit d level was low and I now take D3 2000 iu daily and calcium 500mg/vit D twice a day. Last
Blood test was Normal. I have osteoporosis with T12 fracture at age 35 just from siting up in bed one day.

your doctor will advise you best as everyone absorbs vitamin d at different rate and if you have osteoporosis you need to take more but too much is not good either as it will stop calcium uptake at least this is what my consultant tells me.

My dr wrote a script for me to go and get my vitamin D tabs made up i take them for around 6 months then i go and have a blood test to check my levels and if they have come up sufficiently i then go on the vitamin D off the chemist shelf. but my dr likes to check levels every 6 months for me.
