Anybody suffer from terrible anxiety and panic attacks? I do and hate it so much. Never know when it's going to hit. Take Prozac 20mg but not sure if it helps. Any suggestions?

Members shared their deeply personal experiences with anxiety and panic attacks, with many describing how these feelings come unexpectedly and can be completely overwhelming. Several members offered practical strategies including fast-acting medications like Clonazepam, Xanax, or Lorazepam for acute attacks, antidepressants like Cymbalta that address both depression and anxiety, therapy techniques, breathing exercises, essential oils, and deep pressure from tight hugs or weighted items. A recurring theme was the strong connection between fibromyalgia and anxiety, with many believing the nervous system misfires trigger both pain and panic, and the importance of working closely with doctors to find the right medication combination while using coping techniques in the meantime.

I've had terrible anxiety for the past 10 years now. Some days I'm ok, and other days I feel like I'm going to die from feeling so anxious. I have Diazepam (Valium) for my bad days. Medications like Valium, Xanax, and Ativan are good because they're fast acting and help to prevent panic attacks. You might want to ask your doctor for something like that to go along with the Prozac.

I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember. I use a breathing and a repeated response to help myself. I count my breathing inhale count to 1 2 3
hold my breath 1 2 3 exhale 1 2 3 then I chant to myself I am well able to handle this circumstance, pain etc. I am blessed and well able. It works for me, hope it will be of some comfort to you. Blessings and take care.

The Rheumatologist I saw told me that panic attacks and Fibromyalgia seem to go
Hand in hand.

I have them and over the years have tried different anti=anxiety meds. I can't say I have a fix but I try to control my thoughts and mind. I have severe anxiety which often leads to despair and these usually occur at the same time at night. I get them also in the day. I think it is the Fibro. My daughter has them too and she is only 20.
