I am taking cymbalta and I overheat and perspire all the time. I spoke to my doctor about this and she asked me if the medication is helping. I told her it was. She told me my options were to stop taking and ache and be moody or keep taking and sweat. I chose sweating because I do feel better than when I was first diagnosed.
I am taking Cymbalta and I would get overheated after a shower when I was getting ready in the morning, and also when I cooked and cleaned. I find since I added Gabapentin I don't get nearly as hot, and perspire a lot less. I read somewhere that Gabapentin is used off label for hot flashes. These medication side effects are frustrating, aren't they? I'm taking 3 meds at the moment and I'm still in pain everyday. Can I ask how long you have been taking Cymbalta and Gabapentin? I agreed to take Gabapentin thinking it was low risk for weight gain :(
Unfortunately, it's not just the meds causing our significant weight gain and sweats. It's our depletion of energy and complete imbalance that we have. Our toxicity, as a result, worsens it.
I use ice packs to cool my body down while I'm at the computer, reading or watching tv. It seems to help the inflammation in my joints, especially my TMJ.
At least, the sweats are ridding us of some toxins!
To a COOL one!

Actually I'm not on any pain meds yet, just an as needed muscle relaxer. I feel like I'm about to combust on a daily bases (even prior to the med). Everyone thought oh its because I had a kid and hormones were screwy but it turns out through researching, those who deal with fibro actually get hot flashes. If it gets too much, try using a cooling towel of some sort. I have this frogg trogg chilly pad that stays cool for a long time and it helps this flaming redhead get through her combustion phase. xD
I have been on Cymbalta for two years. I burn up all the time.
