Hey guys, does anyone else have an Underactive Thyroid AND fibromyalgia? If so, how do you cope with both? Are they related? I'm new to having FMS and I'm just trying to understand this...

Hi I have hypothyroidism FMS and Elher Danlos syndrome. I see an endocrinologist for my thyroid issue. I had a cold nodule on one lobe of my thyroid and it got so big it had to come out.i chose to have only half of my thyroid taken out, which had the large nodule on it. It was this time last year.... Thank goodness it wasn't cancer, though I have another small nodule on the other lobe and its watched by doing an ultrasound every three months. As for coping with all this I stay positive for the most part. Some things I've had to deal with is I'm always so tired muscle aches and spasms,OA and my hair has thinned. I'm on two different types of thyroid medication which seems to be helping. I have to constantly have labs to watch my levels. If I could suggest anything of great importance I suggest you go to an Endocrinologist. My Family practitioner always said my thyroid was fine and he wouldn't check my T3 so things can be missed if not seen by the right doc. As far as emotions with this I have good days and bad, I'm hard on myself because sometime I feel like a slug and I get guilt feelings that I should be doing more. Just keep moving when you can ...I've been told by many Vit C magnesium ( not oxide) and Calcium help. I'm sorry to hear of your recent diagnoses of FMS ...I too am still learning all I can I was diagnosed in 2011. This group seems great! Have a nice rest of your day...
