I have been on Lyrica for 4 months & have put on 10lbs and started itching all over 2 months ago if I forget one of 2 pills during day. I want to get off of Lyrica and have heard of Savelle. Has anyone used Savelle? What side effects did you have. Did it help with muscle / joint pain?

Members shared mixed experiences comparing Lyrica and Savella for fibromyalgia, with many describing significant fluid retention and weight gain on Lyrica that sometimes led to serious complications like congestive heart failure, while others found it essential for pain relief despite side effects. Several members reported success with Savella or gabapentin as alternatives, though experiences varied widely, with some experiencing sweating or minimal symptom improvement, and many emphasized the trial-and-error nature of finding the right medication for their unique bodies. A recurring theme was the frustration of balancing side effects with pain management, with members offering practical advice like monitoring liver enzymes if itching occurs and exploring non-medication options like aqua fitness for additional relief.

I elected Savella over Cymbalta and Lurica due to the possibility of weight gain. I have degenerative disc disease and could not afford to carry a lot of extra weight. So far it is working nicely!

Savella has been great for me. I tried Cymbalta and did not like how I felt on it. I've never tried Lyrica. Each of us tolerate medications differently according to these crazy bodies our ours. I found out that it was trial and error. I take gabapentin and Savella and it makes my life manageable. A few months ago I could barely walk around my house but now I am working full time. Good luck and I hope you find relief quickly.

I am on savella because lyrica had a bad psychological effect on me. It helps me a lot but I also take hydrocoidone if the pain gets too intense. But then again there were times on lyrica that I needed a pain pill as well. Everyone is different

I'm on Tramadal 100mg now. My drug regiment is very complicated because I also have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in my Rt Leg following knee replacement surgery. I have the leg injected at least twice a month and have a major nerve block in the OR on a pretty regular basis I also had neurosurgery in August, so some meds I can not take due to the other meds that I am on. I have just signed up for an Aqua fit class which in their description they mention good for Fibro, so off to the pool and hope it helps if anything it will get my mind off of the pain distraction is my best medicine. Oh how I hate this!!!!!!

Hi Susan, that is good to know...this Cymbalta is definitely adding weight to me. I don't think that helps the pain I have in my feet and legs.
