Anything is possible, especially with something that does not have a cure. The big difference between Alzheimer's and Fibromyalgia is that medical teams and scientists know a lot more about Alzheimer's than they do about Fibromyalgia. Alzheimer's works completely different than fibromyalgia. As far as symptoms go there aren't any similarities. There is NOT a link between Alzheimer's and Fibromyalgia. I specialized in Alzheimer's for many years. With that said the only way I could see that being a possibility is in the non-genetic form of Alzheimer's. In that form it is an early on-set of Alzheimer's that could be triggered by trauma but science does not prove that. The symptoms for early onset Alzheimer's and genetic Alzheimer's are the same.

Maryin- Alzheimer's is not trauma related. There are two forms of Alzheimer's. Genetic and non-genetic. People still get Alzheimer's even if they suffered no trauma. The only link I can think of, is if you have a severe head injury where you are knocked out for awhile it can increase your chances of developing dementia and/or Alzheimer's.

Good question. I notice I have problems with short term memory more often and the long term seems to come in and out. Doesn't help that I have Dementia and Alzheimer's run in the family on both sides. I kinda of make a joke about it. The only problem with losing one's mind is that it drives everyone else crazy...you can't remember so it doesn't bother you.

Me too, I can't remember my children's childhoods witch is really sad.
