Vitamin D
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi i was given a script for Vitamin D by my doctor for fibro he tested me and stated it is extremely low. It is weird because my step mom in law was diagnosed years ago with fibro and she constantly has to take vit d because it remains low. Does anyone else have that

I go outside quite often i am an outside type person. I do get the ibs because i have had that since i was a teenager so i may not absorb it well because i already have some autoimmune conditions, it is just strange to me that since the fibro diagnosis that more and more is wrong with me

Truth be known most of us probably if you don't get out in the sunshine other than back and forth to work and church. Vitamin D difficiency will also make your legs ache.

My first test I was told was 17. Second only bumped me up to 23. Norm is 30-100. I'm now taking 2000 daily and was told to add 500 calcium.

When I asked my Dr. about Fibro patients in particular being low in vitamin D he chuckled and said yes because they don't go outside much!

I too have low Vitamin D and must take a prescription. My doctor told me most fibromyalgia patients run low on Vitamin D.
