Members shared diverse experiences with medical marijuana for chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia and restless leg syndrome, with many describing significant relief from pain, improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and better quality of life when traditional medications fell short. Several members offered practical guidance, including starting with very small doses to test tolerance, choosing edibles over smoking to avoid grogginess, using it strategically on the worst days to maintain effectiveness, and exploring prescription alternatives like Nabilone in areas where cannabis remains illegal. A recurring theme was cautious optimism tempered with individual variability, as members emphasized that while cannabis transformed some lives by extending pain relief and restoring hope, others experienced adverse effects like nausea, underscoring the importance of personalized experimentation under medical guidance.

Yes. I tried medical marijuana the first time in 2009. I did not expect it to help. I was truly surprised. The medicines the doctor could give me for pain only gave me relief for a total of 6 hours out of every 24. I take my medicines in 3 shifts, about 6 hours apart, then let exhaustion put me to sleep and sleep through as much of the remaining 12 hours as possible (usually between 6 & 10 hours). Then, once I added cannabis to each 6 hour dose, it stretched it out so that I could come out of a place of absolute hopelessness, pain-driven outrage and anger, into a place where I actually have a choice most days on how I respond to life in general and this damned disease specifically. It was a real boon for me.

Maryland is currently in the process of setting up the medical marijuana system. After learning just a little about this option and hearing there is actually a strain developed for a "body high" rather than a "head high", I am extremely interested. How does that sound, y'all-BODY HIGH. Sounds so...relaxing, no pain.

Yes and it really helps me settle on the nights when my restless leg syndrome is bad . I only use it on the really awful days if you use it too often it doesn't work so well . If it's illegal where you live then you could ask your doctor for a prescription for a drug called Nabilone ( Google it ) I prefer the medical mariguana as its more natural and wears off quickly

Just want to add: my son cannot use cannabis. It makes him throw up. So don't just assume because it worked for me it will definitely work for you. If you try it, do it in tiny tiny increments (like one puff, literally, then stop and wait 20 minutes to see what the effect is before taking an additional puff.) Just want to be clear that it, like all medications, may work great for some, okay for others, but be harmful to other people.
