Five years ago I started a cough after my first bad flair up. It started as a slight irritating cough and slowly developed into a very annoying all the time cough. It comes at any time. I can't say that your cough is from lisinopril but it is a documented side effect. My husband developed a cough after starting it but it eventually disapated.my doctor just took me off of it.
Just a thought. Has anyone checked your thyroid? Is there possibly a goiter, or swelling that is causing swelling and irritation.
Another thought; what medications are you on? That can be a side affect, or reaction.
I have a cough n it really stays w me n I thought it was COPD,my Dr.said it was COPD! I choke n gag alot, n I use a inhaler! Coz it catches my breathe sometimes! Hugs n prayers to u !
Generally I have chest pain around the sternum, feeling the lift and release of every breath. One of my meds, an anti anxiety, causes coughing. It's much, much worse at night. If my dose is increased the coughing subsides for awhile but then returns again. Believe in my case it's chemical dependency. I now refuse increasing the dosage and tough it out as other anti anxiety meds have not worked for my anxiety.
I did,I go to have my blood work done every 3 mths! No Thyroid but the Dr.did say it COPD along w ephesema n bronchitis! Thyroid runs in my family so I do watch it,carefully...I don't need or want anything else!
