Members shared their struggles with the exhausting paradox of severe fatigue paired with persistent insomnia, often waking frequently, feeling unrested, and dealing with restless legs that make sleep nearly impossible. Many described trying various medications and supplements with mixed results, including melatonin, Zopiclone, Ambien, amitriptyline, diazepam, Requip for restless legs, and sleep aids like NyQuil or Tylenol PM, with some finding relief through combinations of medications while others continued searching for solutions. A recurring theme was the importance of good sleep hygiene, exploring underlying issues like sleep apnea, and the shared frustration of never feeling truly rested no matter how much sleep is achieved.

I totally relate to this. I am exhausted pretty much all the time, getting an average of 4hrs sleep a night. I can get to sleep. But I wake after 1hr tops,, and then toss and turn for hours. I think pain on moving wakes me and then my brain keeps me awake. This can go on for days and then I crash and will sleep for 12hrs or more, not solidly, but waking and going straight back to sleep. If you find a cure guys please let me know xx

I have bouts of insomnia and times when I can sleep the whole weekend away. Mind you though the sleep is never more than 2 to 4 hours at a time and no amount of sleep ever feels refreshing. I have tried Tylenol pm, Advil pm and it doesn't do anything for me. I get restless legs so incredibly bad that I have to get up. Sad to say this but the only thing Ivrthad that can relax me and knock me out good for a few hours is drinking a couple to a few drinks of Coffee Brandy. Not a good recommendation. I'm still seeking relief.

I find that Xanax helps to relax my brain enough to fall asleep. I go through phases like that and that is the only thing that works. I also take amitryptiline.

I feel exhausted all the time. My rheumatologist told me to try melatonin. That was 2 nights ago and it has helped both nights and have yet to have any hang over feelings the next morning
