Members shared deeply about restless leg syndrome, with many describing how it disrupted their sleep and spread to their arms, leaving them desperate for relief. Several members found help through medications like gabapentin, muscle relaxers, or slow-release pain medications, while others explored natural remedies such as increasing potassium through apple juice or bananas, though experiences varied on their effectiveness. A recurring theme was frustration with doctors who dismissed their symptoms, with members encouraging one another to advocate for themselves, seek second opinions, and keep searching until they find a provider who listens and works collaboratively to find solutions.

I did not know I had restless leg syndrome, till neurologists tested my legs for nerve damage. If your Dr won't work with you get a new one. I won't go to a DR. with know it all syndrome. I have asked my Dr to try different things and he will let me try as long as not dangerous. I worry that he will retire on me. I pay cash to see him every 6 months. A good Dr makes all the the difference. Together we have found things that work for me. I praise God for him. For years I went without any treatment because Dr.s treated me like it was in my head. I know your frustration, keep looking.

I think I get restless leg but never had it diagnosed. I have used a slow release pain med and sometimes that helps me to sleep through the night. If I wake I just go out and sit and watch TV, which is very boring at 3 or 4 in the am. After a short while I can then go back to bed and usually sleep for a couple of more hours..
