I've had fibromyalgia for 8 years and the past 2-3 years I've had urinary tract infections, kidney infections, and even kidney stones! I've had a UTI here and there, but never kidney infections and even kidney stones like this. I know IBS is very prevalent with fibro, but has anyone experienced kidney infections and stones with fibro?? I've been eating better and drinking more water so the opposite should be happening!

Members shared their experiences with recurrent urinary tract infections and kidney stones alongside fibromyalgia, with several describing frequent hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and ongoing struggles with bladder and kidney issues despite improved diet and hydration. Many community members described practical strategies that have helped them, including prophylactic antibiotics like Macrobid, cranberry supplements, regular monitoring through ultrasounds every three months, and working closely with a urologist to adjust diet and stay proactive about stone formation. A recurring theme was the complex relationship between compromised immune systems, underlying metabolic conditions like cystinuria or low potassium, and fibromyalgia's tendency to amplify pain, with members offering solidarity around the frustration of managing overlapping conditions that often lack clear answers.

I had many of same problems ten years ago. Maybe you should request to see a urologist. I did and he helped me with diet change and awareness.

Yes! Chronic stones and infections since 1998. Hospitalization every year and surgeries to remove them, only for more to take their place. My urologist sends me for ultrasound every 3 months to stay on top of them.
