I'm battleling insomnia, frequent wakenings and not being able to fall asleep easily. I'm wondering what works for different people. OTC sleep aids do not work for me and I'm getting desperate. I've been on sleeping pills before ,and do not really want to resort to that again.
Many hard core sleep aids are very dangerous for me as I also battle depression and have had a mini stroke.

Hiya :) my sleep has been horrendous! Then I found an app on Google play store by accident really but I've had 3 nights sleep solid!! Am a pure sceptic at this kinda thing but last night I didn't use it n what an awful damn night! It's called Fix Pain Hypnosis app if you like to try it xx
This type of treatment can be very helpful. I also find aroma therapy (I love lavender especially) helpful. Magnesium maleate is helpful for many fibro symptoms. A nice warm soak in an epsom salt bath right before bed really helps me. The thing that has helped me most lately is eliminating ALL electronics at least one hour before bed. I miss my browsing, emailing etc from bed, but it made a remarkable difference.
Binaural beats actually guides your brain waves into a meditative state that can have varying effects for different frequencies. So in the morning, I can use it to wake up and have a bit of energy, and at night it can put me to sleep. The app I use has a pain relief setting too. It's really worth it. And I thought it was hokey before I tried it. ๐
The sounds of nature seems like it would definitely help. I don't have TV now and I do miss the music channels. But I have never been able to stomach warm milk. It's funny how things work so well for one person and not another. I guess that's part of the fibro adventure.
My Dr has me take 1/2 tablet of flexeril, melatonin & turmeric at nite......it helps a lot.
Thanks gals! Most of the meds you mentioned ... I can not take due to sensitivities . been on the Flexerel before as well... makes me feel like a Zombie if I recall right. And @A MyFibroTeam Member... your suggestion souns very nice!!! Would like that sort of thing. Last night I tried A combo of Warm milk with honey and a Tylenol Pm .... pretty good results! I'd like to stay as natural as possible. The tea may be ok ... perhaps Sleepy Time or Chamomile . Gentle hugs to you all!
