Has anyone tried an electric blanket to wrap themselves into for the pain? We have a small hot water heater and I tried to get a tub full of water to soak in but it just didn't work out. I was wondering if the blanket would help like the water would. The heating pad is so small and I need it all over.

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that electric blankets help ease fibromyalgia pain, with many describing them as essential tools for relaxation and relief, especially at night when heating pads feel too small for widespread pain. Several members shared practical tips, including trying electric throw blankets for wrapping up during the day, layering heat therapy with heating pads, and exploring heated pool therapy as another effective option. A recurring theme was the individual nature of pain relief, with one member noting they prefer cold packs due to heat sensitivity, while others mentioned challenges like hot flashes or the cost and availability of quality blankets.

Actually, I have an electric blanket when I go to bed to keep me warm. During the day a heating pad helps me. But yes, I do find that the heating blanket and pad helps lots.

I have used an electric blanket and an electric throw blanket, too. It does help quite a bit.

I can't stand the heat! I sleep with a pliable freezer pack to keep me cool. If I didn't have teenage boys here, I would sleep nude. I hibernate during the Summer and enjoy the Winter. I'm a strange duck though, so my experiences are rather different.
