Do Medicines Help?

Do Medicines Help?

I have a doctors who peers no meds and says it is all about fitness and sleeping right. I was wondering how everyone felt about that. I find I can not stick to a fitness plan because I get to tired and sore.

Thank you for all the advice, I appreciate everything everyone said. I see a new dr in a few weeks, for now I am going to try exercising, stretching, and maybe some yoga. Hard after working all day though, but will at least stretch.

Thank you

If you don't sleep well you cannot function. I know that has been a big problem for me. My doctor told me I needed to start doing yoga because I had gained some weight and I told her if I could sleep well I might feel like doing that. The fatigue from not sleeping well was just too much to expect anything out of me except what was necessary. I am finally starting to sleep better.

I agree, you must find a doctor that believes in Fibro. This can be a long journey

I exercise as much as I can because I found when I didn't exercise I felt worse ( both physically and emotionally). I have major flare ups and when I do I usually end up going to work and when I get off I go to bed. I just had flare up that lasted three weeks and as soon as I start to feel better I try and work exercise into my daily routine. Yoga I find really good as it is mostly stretching but it's also very relaxing. I also run. However I have determined that my body can tolerate a 10 km run occasionally but 5km is my optimal run. I try and exercise 3 to 4 times a week and I if I can't then I rest. Sleeping is often my biggest problem. I recently bought a memory foam topper for my mattress. It is awesome. It helps especially when you are so sore that you can't' touch anything. Your body just sinks into the foam. Also I go to bed early at night and have my room as dark as possible. This has helped a lot. Still have nights that don't sleep well.
