A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have a doctors who peers no meds and says it is all about fitness and sleeping right. I was wondering how everyone felt about that. I find I can not stick to a fitness plan because I get to tired and sore.

I think you may need another dr. Maybe one that has a good bedside manner, if there's any out there. Seems like noone cares.

You should ask your Doctor if hes actually ever looked the defiinition of fibromyalgia! Of course some light working out might help, maybe yoga, nothing more than your body can take, and medicines same thing some work some dont i do highly believe in two that i take that are non-opioids 1-Robaxin i take 6-8- a day its a muscle relaxer non addictive and melaxicam 1-day also non-addictive but helps muscle but im sure there are others that those dont work for you might have to play around i also see a therapist once a week and a Pa who goes over all my medications every couple months or sooner if needed, but honestly i think you need to find a doctor who will try medications and you may need more than 1 doctor i have 4-5 i think that i have and mainly for treating everything from pain to therapy to a pain specialist your options are out there to look for but if your doctor wont budge on trying medications i think you may need someone pain is real just because you cant see itπŸ₯°

Hi, As regards rheumatologists!!!??? Saw one last week - end result? She couldn't interpret the path results for blood work even, and her medical knowledge was years out of date. So rheumatologists don't always have the answers, and this isn't the first one. Where I live there used to be another well known one who said fibro was just a state of the mind - really?
So what I am tryingto get across here, is you have to see a Dr who believes in fibro and maybe that person can help. All the others do is give you medication - anti-depressants chiefly like amitryptline (Endep) or such, because it is all in your brain!!?? And I don't think fibromyalgia causes a deficiency in amitryptline or any other anti-depressant.
Ask around, search the internet. Best of luck as there aren't an awful lot of medical people who are up to treating fibromyalgia.

Well, I guess he doesn't have Fibromyalgia!! You need to stay as active as you can and stretch as much as possible. Sleeping is hard for me. I have said many times that Pain Centers can usually help or a rheumatologist. I have always had great luck with pain doctors. Good Luck.
