I have been having shortness of breath lately and I'm not sure if it's due to my heart condition (born with and I've had open heart surgery at age 2 and I'm on my third pacemaker) or if it's the FM?
I feel like I can't get a full breath in and I have to control my breathing and it passes quickly. My cardiologist's nurse (who I talked to yesterday) said get to the ER if you know you "can't breath" but if it only is a few moments, follow up next week with your cardiolgist.

I've had fibromyalgia for 15 years and I just started experiencing the shortness of breath this past year. I told my PCP and she sent me for a pulmonary function test which I passed fine. Then to cardiologist and everything checked out fine. I guess it's just deconditioning from being down too much? It's scary though, sometimes I get short of breath just bending down to feed my animals! What's next? I feel the list of symptoms is endless! Ugh!
Have shortness of breathe and chest pain. Have seen a cardiologist with full work up. Nothing showed. Worse in a flare but feel each breathe often--very hard to carry a conversation or focus sometimes.
@A MyFibroTeam Member I have had the same thing. Can't catch my breath after a few stairs. I assumed that this was due to being overweight and not in good physical condition. I have been doing cardio several days a week for about 5 weeks and I still experience this. I have not had a follow-up with pcp to discuss this to see if there is anything to it. My heart rate and blood pressure are both normal. I am curious at how many others with fibro also share this issue. Thanks for sharing!
it makes me feel better that others have this issue, so thank you. I will follow up after my appt on Tuesday if I learn anything more or it gets bad and I go to the ER.
I have been having this issue lately with chest tightness i just figure itbis just another symptom. I hope you feel better
