Members shared experiences with painful burning sensations and pink or red blotches on their skin, a symptom many described as feeling like sunburn without sun exposure, often accompanied by embarrassing facial flushing that draws unwanted attention and questions from others. Several members offered possible explanations and relief strategies, including small fiber neuropathy as a cause, medications like Lyrica or Gabapentin for nerve pain, hot baths or spas for temporary relief, and essential oils, though some noted their doctors attributed it to inflammation or anxiety rather than nerve damage. A recurring theme was the frustration of dealing with an unpredictable and poorly understood symptom that creates both physical discomfort and social embarrassment, with many members finding solidarity in knowing they are not alone in this strange and isolating experience.

The burning is from small nerve neuropathy and it sucks. Hot tubs, spas, or hot baths help to relieve it. Also Lyrica or Gabapenton, however watch the gabapenton, because it can really screw with your mind. As to the rash, that could be a sign of something else. You might need to have the Dr. check for Sjogrens.
