Sudden Random Pains
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I often get sudden pains in random areas. They may only last from seconds to minutes, but at that particular moment I wonder if it's something serious. The type of pain varies, but usually they are sharp. I have never mentioned it to my doctors because since the pains are so fleeting and sporadic, I always forget to bring it up. Does anyone else experience this?

Just about all day every day. I call this Christmas light pain. Picture ur body wired with thousands of lights. The multifunction kind. You never know where a bulb or bulbs will come on but that's the pain. It might fade in...get intense...then fade out. Or it's a vibrating sharpness like a light would be flickering. Its in random spots like different lights blinking. You get the idea. My rheumi says that's "normal " with fibro. Its the nerves interpreting everything that stimulates them as pain. Our central nervous system is basically misfiring

I have learned to write every sign or symptom down and take it to my Dr's appointments (every Dr. I see)
Sometimes we think something is new, strange, or why are we having this kind of pain. The Dr.s need all the information you can give them to help find what will be the best treatment for you. Even though we all have similar signs & symptoms, each of us need to be good reporters of our own bodies. I forget often from one week to another, It took me a long time to keep a list of all the things I had experienced since the last appointment. It is important for you to keep a diary of your health & life so you can be treated and find some kind of tolerable living without disappearing from life. You are not experiencing pain, fatigue,
sleepless nights etc. because of your imagination. Your are worthy, you are loved, you will find your way by being vigilant in reporting your issues and finding the answers to how you can live your life with dignity and love. I wish you the best in your quest back to living a life you can live and enjoy again. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Yesss! I've been awakened with my body lighting up like a Christmas tree in random pains.... that's how I feel it... little zings, jolts, stabs, burning sensations, pokes, all the while radiating aches running the length of my legs... it's like hell. It's like there is a poison inside slowly killing my nerves. The worst is when it's attacking my torso... when these pains first started I ended up in the ER... once I thought for sure it was a gall bladder attack in upper right quadrant... another time it attacked the pelvic area and I thought it must be a ruptured ovarian cyst or something... now I realize it's the beast inside and I just wait it out..

What the hell is this and why can't they solve it this mystery????

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Is that the same as disability here in the states? I know here fibro is a qualifying disability
