kdeb.....I totally understand but it's not the answer. We need to find a cure for this and be part of saving/sparing our families and children from the cruelty of this disease. And death doesn't really free us, it just transfers the pain to others we love. And that's just not acceptable.
I don't think any family members really understand what you are gone through. My husband complains about all the meds but he is a big help around the house.
I know you are right about more pain for family. Sometimes the pain is so bad then I get depressed. Just really want them to understand. Family can get down right mean. Three of my 5 adult kids moved home also one of my youngest moved in also. They all have dogs 6 dogs . they did not move in to help like they said. They actually watch me clean. If I tear up I'm being whiney. If I cry from pain I go to my room. Other wise I am told to take a chill pill.
My husband still remembers 19 years ago when neuro in Colorado said fibromyalgia is not real. I worked and had 2 more babies after diagnosed. Tried to keep working but legs got weaker and weaker, anxiety was awful and so finally had to quit, and so I don't have money at all. I am getting so depressed it scares me. Thoughts of family being happier with out me. 24/7 pain and family that's mean, just death would be easier.
I had my husband come to my rheumatologist and ask her what my future was going to be like....She told him my prognosis for getting better is...poor. she explained fibromyalgia is chronic and often gets worse. He believed what the doctor told him.
